From Control to Surrender: How to Let Go and Let God
In this episode of the UN-perfect Podcast, you’ll hear about my weird but brilliant puppy and what that has to do with moving from control to surrender: How to Let God and Let God.
I don’t know about you; I’m not good at letting go. I want control. So when life spirals out of my control, I get frustrated that God isn’t doing things my way or on my timeline. And like my dog, I really want to wrestle with God over control. And I’m saying to God, “You’re not doing a good job. Here, let me handle this.” How ridiculous that I’m telling the creator of the universe to scoot over and watch me work!
But just like my puppy, I’ve got to surrender the stick and take a few steps back so God can take it and have his way with it.
In this episode, we dive into some things to consider as we strive for control and try our hardest to manipulate the outcomes we want. We also consider how Jesus modeled surrender for us incredibly well and never intended for us to bear the heavy, relentless weight of control.
