God gives us the gift of emotions to help us deal with disappointment in this beautiful yet broken world. In fact, Scripture has so many Psalms of lament that give us a blueprint for bringing our raw emotions and honest prayers to the God of hope. My guest today shares hope through the power of prayers of lament.

Today, my guest on the pod is Brenda Stewart. Additionally, she holds an MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Regent University. She is licensed as a Mental Health Counselor in Florida and as a Professional Counselor in South Carolina.
Brenda also founded Wellspring Therapy Associates, a clinically sound, faith-based practice in the Orlando area. She specializes in working with clients who struggle with trauma, eating disorders and anxiety. Brenda also provides coaching and consultation to individuals, small groups, and organizations on grief recovery, stress management, and nervous system regulation.
Finally, she is a published author of career counseling textbooks. She presents at professional conferences on topics such as compassion fatigue and grief. Together with author Teresa Whiting, she hosts the quarterly virtual workshop, The Healing Power of Lament. Here, women are shepherded through the prayers of lament process.
